Now that I've got the Porterfield R4s pads up front, the truck actually stops. Stops quite nicely in fact.

Next I'd like to get rear shoes to match the friction coeficient of the front pads. Does anyone knows of over the counter high performance rear shoes for the T100?

I've never seen any HP shoes, but if you want to increase the rear brake power you can try adjusting the proportioning valve rod, or swapping the prop valve for a manually adjustable one.

Just don't git the back brakes locking up before the fronts...that will guarantee that yer gonna end up swinging the rear around to the front... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

When I was looking it seemed like the market was pretty void of anything interesting.

I decided to get the set from the dealer instead of messing around with relined stuff from the auto store.

Looking at my records they were about $60.

I'm fighting rear end locking issues and can attest that, unless you are carrying a load to actually put weight on the back, increasing stopping power to the rear end will only lead to locking it up at the most unfortunate of times. There just isn't enough weight on the rear tires once heavy braking occurs to work with.

Aw, but it's so much fun to go sliding through redlights backwards in the rain. :-)

Seriously, I do understand the importance of brake balancing and not getting it tail happy. That's a big part of the reason I installed the Porterfields up front. But now it's shifted the balance greatly forward. I worked more with it yesterday, and it's to the point I can accept it. But it would be nice to more closely match the frictions.

I was hoping to find an over the counter shoe, but I guess I'll have to get TSI or such to custom line me a set. Then again, things are good enough to accept right now, so I just might save my pennies for other things.
