Thats not a bad Idea, I just don't want to get something and have it crap out 2 months later.

That, is something you cannot guarentee with a used engine. There is always a risk it will blow up soon after you acquire it. Rebuild or a crate engine will help reduce that risk, but there is a relatively postive relationship between what you pay and what you get.
