Hi everyone. I (virtually) completed my Chevy spring swap on my 1997 T-100. I put the bump stops up on little pillars so that the springs wouldn't go past flat.

The problem is that the spring travel is rather low. When the axles are suspended there is something like 12" between the top of the bump stop and the frame, but when loaded, it's something like 2-3".

Here's a picture of the axle and springs without any weight on them. You can see the 12" or so between the frame at the very top and the bump stops.

Even so, the ride seems about right, but I think I'd like a little more travel before bottoming out.

So the question is, how much travel should I have in the springs when the truck is unloaded? Seems that what I have is rather low.
