Need a Spot
i just purchased a 96 t100 x cab 4x4 5spd 245k
would like to fit 33's and i understand the offset with the stock wheels. right now its stock and am looking to lift 2"
as i understand this will allow 33's using the balljoint spacers? which ones to get?
and rear add a leaf? is this a good solid way to raise the truck? will i need anything else? any reccomendations?
i also will be replacing the upper and lower ball joints, idler arm "i seem to remember a better one of these" in my reading adventures..
any brand that you guys can reccomend for these parts would be nice.. i dont mind paying little more for quality/reinforced parts that will last...
also will be getting shocks and looking at the billsteins but with the 2" lift will they fit or do i need to get longer ones maybe old man emu"had em on my jeep and loved them.. my mechanic said try to find oil filled shocks...
your knowledge and ideas are greatly appreciated.
the short list now that i have rambled on here:

everything i will need to make 33" tires fit dont have to be wide. BJ SPACERS, ADDALEAVES, ETC

balljoints, idler arm brand recomendations.

shocks BILLSTEIN OR NO, longer maybe?

i go 4 wheeling about 5 times a year at the most and not hardcore...

You can squeeze 32s on with no issues. I just threw on some 265/75/16s and they are 1.4 inches higher than the 31's (actually measure 30.5 or so). Combinded with 16" rims and stuff it made for a noticeable lift.

Balljoint spacers can be bought from sdori or 4crawler offroad.

The best add a leaf setup is the deaver 3 leaf progressive pack wheelers offroad used to offer, they now offer thier own in house brand which should be fine. Should lift maybe 2.5 inches.

Shocks are tough, i would go to ranchos website and check out their catalogue for stock length shocks for other vehicles and see. You can get our stock measurements off monroes website.

33s are a problem unless you want to change rims, pound out the pinch weld, remove mudflaps and other accommodations.

32s fit very well.

Even with 2" lift 33s have the above issues.

For a great 2" lift, see ToyTec... I have their spacers in front and add-a-leaf in the rear. It has worked out great.

The ToyTec kit can also include the extended length Procomp shocks. Good units for the $$.

I'd stay away from Rancho shocks...

Too stiff, prone to leakage and rusting, bushings suck...

I had them for a while but was not pleased. The ProComps are way better.

Doug at ToyTec is great to work with. Give him a call. He has a great kit.

Which ones did you have, I used some rancho 9000's on my F250 and was very happy. They last 5 years and had no problems.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
RANCHO ANYTHING SUCKS!!! I PUT RANCHO SHOCKS AND TORSION BARS ON MY T100 AND THEY BOTH RUSTED WITHIN 6 MONTHS. 3 MONTHS FOR THE SHOCKS!
CHEAPEST WOULD BE PRO COMP IF YOU WANT THE BEST CHEAP SHOCKS, BUT EVEN THEY ARENT WELL MADE.
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR WITH SHOCKS.

RANCHO IS <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/oink.gif" alt="" /> CRAP!!

What's the satisfaction of paying someone to do the work......jump in learn and make a lot of mistakes....

Body Damage is Cool
I re-sold my Rancho torsion bars after hammering on them for three years. I never heard anything other than that the guy who bought them was plenty happy.

I have Bilsteins on my FJ Cruiser and they are the bomb.

I'm not sure which ones or which length you would use on the T100 though...
