I just got it back from the exhaust shop. Haven't touched the thing yet. I am going to change out the Ujoints first and see where it takes me. I was really thinking it might just be the joints. It keeps making a light clanging noise every time I shift from N to Drive.

On dropping trans crossmember with spacers...I tried this by 3/4 in. and (1) it lays the Cat. on the T-bar,,,(2) the roll stopper has to be modified. Mine is back where it belongs.

I was replacing the Ujoints and sure enough. They are the wrong ones. Gotta love advance auto huh? What are the part numbers from napa? The ones I bought are wayy too small.

Thats the 3.0 Raider I need them for.

Hafta disagree on the "made in Japan" ones, Dave. Those are the good ones that are in the TRUE Precision box. Normally, they have GMB on the cups. I say normally, because I have seen exceptions. Exceptions usually happen when the parts get relabeled/renumbered. The GMB's are the same as the original ones I pulled out of my truck.

The gray box is made in China junk, which do, in fact, suck

Those are called the SuperJoint. Pretty sure it's made by Spicer. Nothing real special as far as differences between it and the yellow box with blue writing that says Precision.

I replaced the Ujoint on the axle side of the shaft and almost all vibration has gone away. I have a feeling once I am done lifting the front it should all disappear.

Your saying the Japanese ones you had were OME KOYOs? Koyos have the seal inside the lip cup, like a miniture cam seal.
The joints with made in Japan , nothing like the OEM, don't recall seeing any labal on the cups,,,the rubber was so weak that all the grease would only come out of one cup,so weak it was like there was no cup on it.

The Precesion had made in USA cast into it. The cups are big and thick. The caps are beveled on the ends , little easier to press in.

I feel I need to give this an update to finish off the mystery once and for all... I lowered my Raider back to stock, which eliminated alot of vibrations. But they came back within a few days and oh boy with a vengeance. It was unbearable to drive this time. I figured the roll stopper was screwed up, which after inspection was. replaced it, and vibrations went away again. 3 days later they came back and ruined the replacement roll stopper. I popped my hood with the roll stopper disconnected, and revved the engine by hand. Each time the engine revved up and let off the engine would twist itself around pretty harsh. I looked at my drivers mount and yep it separated... seemed like it did it a while ago too. So, I am in the middle of replacing that. I will report back with results, although I think this is the direct cause of all my "mystery" vibrations.
