They did not offer a "USA" location. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> I guess we are real popular.

I'm downloading all the Dakar video's from the dakar.com website.

Not sure if anyone's following the race. This year it was held in S. America.

VW won this year using 2 TDI Touregs. They took both 1st and 2nd place. American Mark Miller drove the Toureg that placed 2nd. American Robbie Gordon in his H3 Hummer finished 3rd! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" />

The closest Mitsu finished 7th. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> Also this year Mitsu elected to not only change their powerplant to a Diesel engine but also changed from the Pajero to the Lancer platform. Probably a big reason they're not in the top spot. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />

That truck has as much to do with Lancer as with Pajero (aside of being 4x4 build for off-road racing). I believe they changed name for sole purpose of avoiding confusion between Montero in SA and Pajero in rest of the world. I'm kinda surprised that they suffered similar issues as VW in first year but guess they want to learn from their own mistakes.
I would say S America provided very good settings for rally. I personally liked it better than constant sands of Sahara.
