Not much going on this weekend in terms of upgrades although I still have a couple more coming.

I did install a pair of Audi 80 horns made by FIAMM. Much nicer sounding than the OE Mitsu horns. Best part is they were only $8 at the local pick and pull. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Sorry dat. There were pics until montypics.com had a catastrophic failure without a functional backup going so 99.999% of my pics are GONE from there <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />.

I haven't taken the time to put everything back up yet (I probably won't continue to use it), but here's a taste for ya...
As originally purchased...
[Linked Image]

Within a very short period of time I upgraded with a lift, tires, & snorkel...
[Linked Image]

Bumpers & Roof rack were next...
From Front

From Back

I then painted the bumpers to match...

And added a full time Navigation system w/ hi res topo maps.

& Just so folks don't think this is just a poser 4x4...

This was from a recent trip to Frank Raines OHV park near Patterson CA. I almost rolled and although it's hard to tell from this picture, the hill was pretty steep and it probably would have been a few 360's before I would have stopped. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" />

My latest mod was a very minor but important one IMHO...
FIAMM horns (from an Audi 80) which sound much better than the wimpy japanese horns...
Here's a pic...

& a video so you know how they sound. http://rides.webshots.com/video/3035771860104986527GCobNz
Currently I'm waiting on a few more mods as I told you on the phone but I'll reveal those updates in the coming weeks with more pics as I complete them.

Glad to hear you're doing better though!

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I just happened to be poking around the archives and saw your new Montero- I have to say that is an extremely nice machine!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> I would like to put some of those bumpers on mine as well, do you know the year of the TJ those came from? Also, could you re-post some pics of the process you undertook to add those? When I pull up the thread, the pics don't show up. Thanks A Lot!

Ray Ive been eyeballing your bumpers and figured out what they are!!!!!

There Smittybilt SRC tube bumpers. Ebay there about 200-300 a piece.

http://www.smittybilt.com/jeep_bumpers.htm

When I get my SR picked up either this week or weekend I'm debating about getting a front one like it. Especially seeing as how I'm welderless now.

Rear will probly be custom dont like the empty spot below the taillights with yours on the back

OK, as some of you may (or may not) know, 4crawler is no longer making rock skidz. Cost of shipping has made them to difficult to continue to support.

That said I recall someone found an online place offering them pretty cheap for Toys which can then be modified to fit our rigs... but I can't recall the site. Does anyone remember which website that was? IIRC, it was roughly a couple of benjamins for a set of skids.

Edit: Nevermind. The site is Trail-Gear.com. Alternatively I found wabfab.org also makes some relatively inexpensive sliders (appear to be the same as trail gear sliders) although trail-gear's are still less expensive.
