Hey Ray:
Thinking that way myself and reading some old threads. Looks like 4.90 gears from a 3.5 Sport is all I need to know?
Right on the carrier search. Plenty of them and nearly zilch on R&P only. Gotta get me a pre-2k locking rear too.
Need to buy things ASAP, before the money from the 95 sale is gone... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

Not sure about pre 2000.
I bought a rear locking diff carrier & front full housing from a 2000 sport with a 3.5L engine.

Thanks for the confirmation!
The pre-2k part was in reference to my wanting to swap in a rear locker, as my "new" 2000 of course doesn't have one.

Then just swap in a housing from a mid 90's SR and the 3rd member from the 2000/2001/etc. sport. That way you get the 9.5" housing w/ locker that you swap in the 4.9x from the sport.

Dang they're heavy!
Holy crap the 3rd member must be made out of depleted uranium!!!
97 lbs for the rear 3rd member and only 90lbs for the front diff w/ housing! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/mrt.gif" alt="" />
