Need a Spot
I had this same problem and after 3 different ignition barrels form Rick Case, I decided to get a remote starter installed. I paid $200 for the remote starter incl. installation. It has never failed and it even warms the Guntero for me in the mornings.

For a moment I thought I was the only one who had to know the "snap the key" trick to start the Montero.

They called me back within 20 minutes of my email...unfortunately I was away from my phone. Hazy, have you dealt with a Russel Moore there? He's the one who called me back, and seemed very helpful.

People act different on different days. Could be their time of the month, too...

The Rick Case here has screwed stuff up before, but they've made every effort to make it right. Now, bear in mind, I run a NAPA store and alot of my customers have me get parts for them. Including from the dealers. So, when I call I usually have a different type relationship with them than a retail customer calling or emailing them. There are also ways of saying things and buzzwords that parts people seem to universally understand I guess...

Stony, I haven't dealt with Russell Moore. It was a female and her name escapes me. Long story short, I placed the order last week, Tuesday, IIRC. Went back to the site Monday to check status. Couldn't log in. Said my U/N and P/W combo wasn't found. So, I replied to my confirmation email and then tried to call them. Got an email back this morning saying that they had been busy and were just now responding. I replied that there was no need to continue with the order, I had ordered elsewhere because of lack of communication. Not sure if all that makes sense or not...
