What are you trying to gain?

The newer IFS axle will give you 3 more inches of width, and larger drum brakes. No strength upgrades that I'm aware of.

Chromo shafts will be the only thing that gives you strength

With a stock motor, I dont see the point of upgrading to Chromo. I think you would benifit more with a wider axle and larger drum brakes. Re-fabbing the shock mounts on the axle is no big deal.
