My experience with a $170 Sony unit is the same as Patrick's. The audio fidelity when streaming is just as good as a CD. On my unit the microphone is built in; some come with the ability to connect a higher quality external microphone so the receiver can hear you better.

I have two radios with blue tooth and find the quality very good. Over here it is also not expensive to find radios, with CD, USB Stick, SD Card, and Blue Tooth for about $130.00. They are very common here.

Damn.
I had a new JVC put in my truck on Saturday afternoon.
I chose carefully and got CD SD USB for $90 and never even considered bluetooth.
I thought I had a trick music box.

Here you can find radio's w/ cd, and either usb, sd, or ipod, and also bluetooth 'ready' for that price... 'ready' meaning you have to buy a separate bluetooth unit (usually $100 or so) for those decks. The deck itself is typicaly $150 and up.

I bought a Pioneer Premier Line deck with am/fm radio, sat radio, cd, usb, ipod, and bluetooth built in. Cost was US$340 installed (so I have a lifetime warranty and free install transfer to any vehicle in the future).

Have bluetooth on my cellphone.

I wish the locals would stop driving around on the phone.
The rich set have DVD players in their Lexii and drive around singing and watching Karaoke CDs or movies , I even see people sending SMS while driving motorbikes, or occasionally some driver will be wearing a crash helmet and trying to talk on the phone while his two buddies share a plastic bag of coca cola on pillion, all while wobbling along, hilarious.
I'm seriously considering taking a hundred hours of random footage of my commute and then producing a spot for Top Gear or the like.

I stop for calls myself, but that's not always a good thing if I'm in a "bandit country" part of town. Bandits being the police. White guy + big car = money, and an easy target for an impromptu spot fine - dinner money for them. Best to keep moving and in the center lanes if possible, avoiding first place at the lights so they don't have time to react. Bluetooth would have been ideal, wonder if I can return it for an upgrade?
