I get a billion search results but I think the answer is yes. I keep chewing thru rear pinion seals on the 93 V6 Runner, I'm not sure front bearing feels right when I snug up pinion nut but I've never done diff work. since it might be time for a new one I'd like an e-locker if it can be done.

Down time is crucial so the more plug-n-play the better. Thanks

You can do it but you need to do something with the harness and get a new gasket and studs, and such, search the tech section for e-locker retrofit.
Inchworm makes a nice harness, ORS made one as well.
You will need to relocate 2 studs, so drilling/tapping and welding will need to be done. otherwise it bolts right in.

The info you need is in our Toyota tech section on the main page

If you get all your parts together, you can get it done in a days time. You can do it with the axle in the truck. Just clean it out really well.

Yep. I put mine in my '89 Runner without taking the axle out, or any welding (have to be very careful when drilling and tapping.) Mine took a weekend, but I took my time and went slow (also known as 'really afraid I was going to screw it up'.) I cleaned the axle housing really well and still changed the fluid at 50 miles and 500 miles, just in case.

You can also build your own controller and pre-wire it before taking the truck out of service, like I did.

Thanks Adam (and others). I stopped at Trails West and may end up going with the Tru-Trac since I have to pull it and replace gears anyway. I'll be in Cinci this weekend (sadly for a funeral), I'll throw another saeal in the diff and hope she makes it down and back
