If you get all your parts together, you can get it done in a days time. You can do it with the axle in the truck. Just clean it out really well.


Yep. I put mine in my '89 Runner without taking the axle out, or any welding (have to be very careful when drilling and tapping.) Mine took a weekend, but I took my time and went slow (also known as 'really afraid I was going to screw it up'.) I cleaned the axle housing really well and still changed the fluid at 50 miles and 500 miles, just in case.

You can also build your own controller and pre-wire it before taking the truck out of service, like I did.
