Hey Guys,
I'm looking at what i could sell araider for just as a feeler. ( THIS IS CURRENTLY NOT FOR SALE ) I think it might be difficult to sell with the down turn in economy ... but then someone maybe looking for a good cheap snow fighter.
What's a good going price for the following ?
87 raider 111k Original motor and Auto Trans Off road package Black Seats and interior clean and in fair shape AC works Fresh Tune up Oil, wires, plugs, cap rotor New brakes all the way around New front Shocks New Cat back exhaust New Idler Arm Carb Dipped and Cleaned New Fuel Pump. New Good year Tracker tires set of 4 Runs and drives well no leaks body in decent condition with rust on wheel wells and 1 spot on door. 1 Hole in inside wheel well patched. Every thing works well 4wd is great and has Auto Hubs.
Do you think 1750 is a good place to start ?

I have been doing allot of searching here lately on craigslist and else where and depending on the condition I see them from 1200-3800. Found one yesterday on craigslist in FL with a V8!
If I had the money and space I would buy every SWB raider/Montero that I could find

If it is CURRENTLY NOT FOR SALE, then isn't a "good price" is irrelevent?
Now if it were possibly for sale, let me know. There is a guy here where I work who loves my SWB. He used to drive old Broncos and would like something old-schoolish for his drive to work. (A short to commute to the plant in Cleveland where we are.) He was partial to my 5-spd when we were yacking it up in the lot. Don't think that would be a deal breaker though.

Locally, swb's are starting at $1K for drivers. I have not seen many for the last 2 years that were worthwhile, expect as parts cars. I'm getting a project Montero from CJM, but with V8 plans in mind.

Isn't the 4cyl auto combo kind of a dog?
Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...

Embarrassingly for my old '68 Buick GS400, I was passed by a Daihatsu Charade (3 cyl., 1K cc) on a hill and couldn't catch up. The little Metros weren't that bad.
I've driven one 4-cyl auto Raider; stick has more feel of speed and spins the tires easier, but the auto wasn't too bad.

Isn't the 4cyl auto combo kind of a dog? That's the way it seems compared to the Straight Drive. I had enough torque to pull a 5x8 uhaul trailer crammed full of my furniture, on 31" tires through the Pocono Mountains. I found myself holding down 4th on some of the longer hill climbs though. I actually do miss that truck.
