This morning, my wife's '95 wouldn't start, because we couldn't turn the key, at all. I tried wiggling the shifter, the wheel, and it would not move at all.

So I load up the wife and 4 little ones in mine, and there's no fan power for the defrost/heat. Both daily drivers down at the same time.

Any suggestions on what to look at on these things? We've arranged a ride for the family, so I have to try to get them running ASAP.

Your gen 2's fan is probably just a bad connection at the fan, or in the switches....

I'd look at the fuses though first!

I'll be you the wheel lock is on, the wheel probably needs to be turned hard to whatever opposite direction it's being sprung to... Or, you need to to put the right key in the truck lol

Got the '95 started...just kept messing with the ignition, and it finally turned...now it seems to work fine. I'm going out to look at fuses, etc. on the '92...it's only 24 out, and my drive is full of snow. smile

Thanks Bill. I may need to run up and pull a fan motor if that's what it needs...depending on the price/availability of a new one. I've got a mechanic (that I trust) who can look at it Monday...gonna be cold riding until then. :-D

Can you get to that without tearing the hell out of the dash? I don't even know where the fan is...hey, I've only been driving the old girl for 17 years, cut me some slack. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/baby.gif" alt="" />

Check the fuses, otherwise its behind the glove compartment above the ECU, I'd recon..

I went thru the fan problems a couple of months ago. I am not sure where it is located on a 95 but if you can get at it without to much trouble, try a direct connection from the battery. If it works then trace backwords. If it does not run then you have saved taking the entire dash apart. It does not matter how you connect it, it will run forward or reverse. Just see if it runs.
