Update: ![[Linked Image]](http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k220/mudlover89/1235051689.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k220/mudlover89/1235051685.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k220/mudlover89/1235051681.jpg) Lettuce came up nicely, but it's falling over now for some reason. Broccoli is doing great too. Roma tomatoes came up third and are almost caught up to broccoli. Oregano has sprouted a bunch of little plants, while the cilantro and jalapenos are just popping up. Still waiting for signs of life from the spearmint. I'm really anxious for that to grow so I can take some into work for my desk.

Looking good JacknCoke! I guess since I asked for pics I should post some. ![[Linked Image]](http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p207/brandillio/100_1741.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p207/brandillio/100_1738.jpg) Here is the first group of plantings. Canteloupe, broccoli, bell peppers, jalapenos, and cayennes. ![[Linked Image]](http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p207/brandillio/100_1747.jpg) We planted our lettuce, carrots, peas, and onion bulbs a few days ago. Also added okra to the list. Delicious!!

This might be a really unpopular suggestion, but if you are tight on space, I would dump the corn. You only get one good ear and possibly a second smaller ear per plant. The key to growing corn is to keep your plot as square as possible. My garden is about 600 - 700 sq feet and I have a decent array of veggies, and I have grown corn for the last 6 years or so and the only times my corn did not produce about 2-3 ears per stalk was the first year when I only had 2 rows of about 25 plants, and last year because we had too much rain. Now I plant 4 rows of about 12-15 plants, and I typically get corn stalks that are 6 - 7 feet tall and average 2 - 3 ears per, the tallest and best plants being in the center. The other thing I do to help is when the plants start to drop the little pods off the tassels; I run my hand over the tassel and put the pods on the silk of the ears. I canÆt wait for spring. I just started a rosemary plant inside, hopefully it takes, I am not in an area where Rosemary will carry over year to year. Sean

We are doing 4 rows of 3 plants for the corn...I just do not have the room to do any more, and the plot for the corn is 7x5 ft. So it is pretty much square...hopefully they produce at least a little.

12 plants will be interesting to see how they do. Personally I would try to double that, but that's just me. The more plants you have the better off you are. You will want to pay more attention to getting the pollen pods from the tassels down on the silk, with such a small number of plants.
I am sure you will still get something though; it just probably wonÆt be the yield you are looking for.

Here's mine so far: Dang! Took 20 minutes to transfer that photo Plants go in the beds this Saturday, weather permitting. This is round one. Round two starts when these go in the soil

We'll be looking more like that in about another 3 weeks. Most any seed that takes over 70 days isn't a candidate for us in the Interior (zone 1-2). Vezey, Ed Hume, and Denali Seed are preferred. I'd like to get some traditional stuff from Territorial Seed, but they won't ship up here, esp the bare root stuff.
Got my bees ordered this week; they'll be here the 3rd week of April.

We have it pretty good down here Kewl, as far as being able to start planting early in the year. it is abuot 40 today, but should be back in at least the 60s tomorrow or the next day. Hopefully this is the last really cold weather we get before spring.
