they are basically plug and play...I would recommend re-jetting it for your altitude, mine came with tiny jets from the factory. for my old 32/36 I bought the K&N intake plenum and ran a cone filter...it made quite a big difference and is alot less redneck of an air filter. those little spring clamps are a HUGE pain in the a$$
