Yeah, those guys are pretty avid shark fishermen, I think this was amongst their first times out. Prince Wm Sound, I think the av. water temps are mid-30's to low 40's. Ya def. want a heavier wetsuit here; around an 8 mil if diving, IIRC.

52 dg water? I haven't checked yet, but I think that's about all the warmer the gravel pits get around here for swimming in the summer. Hmmmm...

x2 on a sit-in for ocean kayaking; that's what we rent down in VDZ when we go fishing for silvers Having the tide tables helps with followin' the fish, in addition to minimizing your work to make it back to harbour. Camelback for water works real well. I wear a good knife and a strobe on my lifevest- lesson from swiftwater rescue training. With warmer weather down there, you might look at some SOS flotation suspenders.

Friend of mine also has some outriggers- some of the bigger lakes here can whip up whitecaps in a hurry where we go. They just deploy them if they need 'em, or have the grandkids along.

Nice little kayak Curtis; former coworker built himself a little one too- it's absolutely beautiful.
