I'm with Landraider on the Sport axle, much better option than the 8.8. As far as D44 prices, I paid 250 for mine, and it came with chromoly axles, factory ford radius arms, and 5.89 gears (which I'm taking out because I can't match them for the rear.) I'd say 400 is too much, especially if it needs to be rebuilt.
