Hi Hans. I see you and Emilie posting on TST every once and awhile. I'm always drooling over the cars you guys have for sale. Never knew you had a Monty too.

Man, I'm so pissed... If I would have known this a month ago, I would have def been contacting you for parts. I'm surprised I havent seen you post about the 3S's you have or comment on a couple questions with my VR4.

To make a long story short, I was involved in a hit and run, I wasnt in the vehicle. I had to look for parts on 3si. Found some good deals and not so good deals.

I'm pretty much done with my parts hunting, but I'm still looking for a 99 front bumper, 99 signals, 94 Stealth headlights or 99 headlights. Let me knwo if you can help or have these parts.

Man, I hate you.. only cause i'm jealous! Good Freaking deal on that Spyder! I wish I knew what you knew.. Right now I'm having a couple issues besides the hit and run. I have to fix the sychros (2nd & 3rd), I can live with that for now. But my main thing is I'm having a sputtering problem at high RPMs when the boost is over 10psi while trying to get on it. My plugs still have another 1k before it gets to the 10k mark, but its seen mostly smooth highway driving since I got it 8 months ago. Any ideas before I take it in and get raped with tuning charges

Thanks man,
Angelo

ps, man i wish you were my neighbor! Jesus! 100- 3000's & Stealths?

Oh, what kind of plugs are you running in that thing? Is the fuel pump relay bypass done?

Here is a lil background on it right now. The plugs were gapped at .028

Mods:
-3sx Eliminators (13G's),
-RC 550cc Fuel Injectors,
-Supra Fuel Pump,
-Fuel Rail Loop Adapter Kit,
-APexi Super AFC II Fuel Controller,
-APexi AVC-R EBC,
-HKS SSQ BOV,
-DN Performance Y-Pipe,
-Innovate Standalone Wideband O2 Sensor w/ gauge,
-K&N FIPK, MSD 8.5mm Wires,
-NGK Copper plugs,
-DSM SMIC's converted,
-PWR radiator

Exhaust:
-3sx Downpipe/Test pipe,
-Borla Cat-back,
-Gutted pre-cats

Drivetrain:
-Clutchmasters Stage 3 Kevlar Clutch,
-Fidanza Flywheel

Others:
-3sx control arms,
-Stillen crossdrilled rotors/brake pads,
-3sx brake lines,
-3sx rear sway bar,
-ASA ST4 19's,
-lowered 1.30",
-Vac Reduction/EGR Delete.
-Polished Upper Plenum and valve cover.
-3sx motor mounts.

Was also told that what it sounded like was an ignition problem. Possibly spark blow-out (whats that exactly and how does it happen?) I could first test-fix it by replacing my plugs and wires.

If that doesnt work, then maybe the PTU (power transistor unit), ignition coils themselves or break in a wire, but not likely unless i've removed the tranny and pinched the wire while reinstalling, the ecu or the timing is just off.

What do you think?

Definitely check what brand plugs are in there. Sounds like spark blow out to me. Don't bother replacing unnecessary ignition parts, just check the plugs.

They are NGK Cooper plugs gapped at .028.. Tell me more about spark blow out? What happens when it does happen. What causes it.

The plugs are good for atleast another 1k, but of course if they need replacing, then I will def replace! Just wondering why they went out so soon esspecially since I'm never really getting on it that much. I'm mainly on the highway.

I'm still new to this vehicle. Would I be able to gap them and install them or is this something a shop should do?

I guess first things first is replace the plugs and go from there. Thanks man,
Angelo

My guess is the tune is too rich and your plugs are fouled out a bit. Pull one of the front 3 and see what it looks like.
