Getting the Wheeling Fever
i am still stumped! ok today it made a lite whistling! Stupid KIA! belts are fine! i am beginning to think its the fan in front. Heres the deal. Tonite, i was behing a semi and it made a horrible noise, so i passed it, it went to a slight whistling noise, and after i passed, the noise went away. I am so confused! Why is it just my KIA????

2001 Tan Kia Sportage, has a K&N air filter, Warn Hubs but there's nothing really special about it, but my 7 year old loves my KIA cuz she sits up high!

harvey, 2001 USA sportage don't use a egr, 1995 did.

Kelly, my fan makes noise and it's new I bought it a auto zone, so don't buy thier's if you replace yours, I only replaced it because the bi-metal spring broke and it over heated. So I just live with it. Sportages can be tempermantal at times. the fan I am talking about is the radator fan not the a/c fan in the front of the rad. if others post Idea's it might help me think of things also.

Body Damage is Cool
Ticking noise: could be collapsed hyd. lifter. or one that is leaking down.

Squealing noise: possibly timing belt idler roller or tensioner bearings. Think I have one going out on mine.

Power steering pumps can make bad noises if they are going out too.

Just a thought and let us know what you find.
