I recommend your choice, but I've actually tested mine. I had a dial type snapon torque wrench, a goodun', and I tightened it and then tested the release torque with the wrench several times. Got pretty close, within less than 10ftlbs every time. But then I've got an edjicated dead blow hammer, with smart shot inside...

If I had the tool, I'd use it. I'd still loosen it my way. Too easy...
