I was talking to the mechanic that does our fleet work and he was telling me he used to replace 1-2 fuel filters every 6 mos and very few fuel pumps until the change to the ethanol mixed gas. Now he is seeing 1-5 filters a month and 2-3 pumps. Since most pumps are in the tank now it gets real expensive to replace them. The ethanol cleans up the crud in the tank and sends it through the system. The filter plugs up and the pump burns up trying to force the fuel through. You might want to see when the last time you changed yours and do it more often if the ethanol mix is used in your state.
