Well, after 21 years of driving three different Raiders, it finally happened. I hit a pothole on an exit ramp, then slid out on gravel, fishtailed, spun and hit a curb broadside and rolled over did a complete revolution before coming to rest on a light pole. I'm here to type this because I had my seatbelt on and the Raider roof is obviously strong enough to survive a rollover.

The sad part is I didn't have time to watch the inclinometer as it happened.

Anyone else ever roll a Raider?

Best,
gt

Ouch! Sorry to hear that happened. I hope you (and passengers?) got out without a scratch.

Would you now be considering chopping the top and putting in a roll-bar? Just thinking of the whole lemons/lemonade thing.

Well on my way to becoming that eccentric old man in every town.(crazy as a s#@thouse rat) With a yard full of desireable old vehicles that tells you, Sorry they're not for sale..... Someday I'm going to fix them.

Chop it and keep going. Good to see you made it ok. Were you hurt at all?

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

So far, I think the amount of rollover survivals are pretty damned good for us Gen1 guys. How many tahoes can be rolled and you get out and contemplate a choptop while waiting for a tow truck?

Sorry to hear about the roll over, hope you keep her after a haircut. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I'm glad that yet with another rollover, we can say we have another survivor amongst us Monthy owners.

Got me thinking though... I wonder what the ratio/chances of rollover are for a SWB vs. LWB... to me it would seem the SWB center-of-gravity thing would make it more prone to rollover vs. a LWB.

Weren't some Suzuki's or Geo's blamed for this sort of thing too? I know in this case it was caused by a pothole and curb, and more than likely my 944 would have flipped too.

I'm just glad no one has posted the circling vultures yet... there's still life in that baby!

Has anyone grafted a Jeep-esque bikini top on these things yet?

That was the problem with the old Jeep with the SWB. Was it the J7?
