Getting the Wheeling Fever
Anyone else had to change theirs? I have the kiatechinfo diagrams and instructions. Any advice would be very helpful.

Check the connector on the blue wire to the solenoid. It has a nasty habit of developing corrosion and can mimic a bad starter.

Body Damage is Cool
I have a manual trans and all I had to remove to get my started out is the brace from the engine block to the intake manifold. It's still not an easy task but it can be done.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I got it out with some help from a mechanic. Ended up costing $75 for the starter and $40 for the help. Now the car starts up way better than it used to.

Thanks for the help,

Yes, it was harder getting the new one in then getting the old one out. The starter is the only thing I have left to remove before I pull the engine, it will give me a refresher on how they come out.

It took two people, one from the top and one under the car to get the starter out. The guy on top pulled it out once it was unbolted.

Sorry, I didn't read the whole question. I got mine out through the bottom and even from the bottom the bottom bolt is the hardest to get out.
