Looking at the steering stabilizer on these trucks, they appear to be nothing more that a horizonally mounted standard shock absorber. For mounts, this one has an eye on one end and a stud on the other, much like the shocks mounted on the front axle of this truck.
My question: has anyone here taken the stabilizer's demensions/rod travel and found a comparable replacement from a standard shock pool?
My motivation: Cost. Not sure why these stabilizers are $10 to $20 more than a standard shock. Toyota wants over $200 for one <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />.
Comments anyone? Thanks.
