Start simple. CHANGE THAT FLUID! If it's truley that old with no changing, it's long overdue and you should feel lucky you weren't out in the boonies broke down. And cleaning out/rebuilding the slave and possibly the master clutch cylinder would be in order. Then you can see if you have to remove the engine or tranny in order to get to the clutch problem.
