Why not? Could have been a gutted out wanna-be fast and furious turbo something. Could have had a motor swap. They make a crap load of parts for them. Could have even been going downhill. I say it is possible.

My 2 ton 1990 4 door montero would do 110 (CHP verified <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" /> ). No reason a civic couldn't do 137 IMHO.

My dad's Acura Integra could bury the needle on the 140 mph speedometer.

Civics can be fast.

They can do it... I had a 1991 accord that you could set cruise at 135 <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif" alt="" />

I worked at a Honda shop in high school as oil change boy (bee-atch) and test driver. I tooled around an '85/86 Prelude 2.0L si around 130 outside of Palm Springs...no sweat!
