Thought I would take a page from Ray's book, and post my mods/upgrades/fixes all in one place, and link to other threads that refer to mods on this truck, to keep everything in one place. I'm posting here rather than in the diesel forum, since most of what I'm doing with this truck is applicable to gassers and oil-burners alike... I'll also put a link to this thread in my signature, so its easy to find. I'd encourage those of you who have long-range truck plans that you want to share, to do the same...

(a lot of you know the intro, so I apologize if this part is a repeat )
The platform: 93 Mitsubishi Pajero Exceed, JDM (Japanese Domestic Market, imported to Canada in Dec08, still right hand drive); Auto, 2.8 turbo-diesel/intercooler, longwheelbase. Open diffs, stuffed with 490s. 76k kms. All bells and whistles except leather.

Goal: A capable long-range expedition rig, that can double duty as tow-vehicle for a small hardside trailer, and can also economically serve as daily driver for a long commute.

First inside pic, after delivery (in stock trim):

First mod was to install a new head unit, and my CB. Decided on the JVC AVX44. Like the fact that it tilts so it can be seen from low-down in the dash. Also has built in bluetooth, aux in, USB in, and provision for rear camera. Also plays DVDs...

Below in the second DIN is the Cobra C18WX-STII. I think I'm going to have to pull it out again though, and install it a little further forward, so it is visible below the faceplate on the JVC...

[Linked Image]

For front speakers, I put a set of Energy mids/tweeters in the doors/top of dash. (Energy is a fairly well-known, high end Canadian home loudspeaker company, who only recently got into the auto market). The crossovers fit inside the door skins, right in front of the cut out for the door pocket. Friction fit too, which was handy.

[Linked Image]

For the rears, I went with Energy 6 1/2" rounds. They'll only be basically background fill anyways, they're so far back (threw away the grilles for fronts and rears, stealthy is better!)

[Linked Image]

(An Infinity sub will eventaully go in back, powered by an amp sitting under the passengers seat in a tray, but I haven't gotten the amp yet.)

Finally, Sirius radio and GPS stick to the windshield on RAM mounts.

Oh, and to power this stuff...

Hey man nothing wrong with reposting stuff and taking pictures No offense to anyone but 4x4wire compared to other forums doesn't take many pictures! and people like lots-o pictures! My SAS build will have a detailed instruction of the process unlike some others with SAS *cough* LR*cough*

Your pajero is so nice! I WANT!

Thanks for the feedback. Its fun to show your mods. Its also fun to look back and see how far your rig has come...

Pulled off the factory running boards, and installed my aluminum East Coast Bullbar, along with some 6" round PIAA driving lights...

Yesterday I put in AirLift 1000 helper air bags. Haven't routed the airlines permanently yet. Trying to decide where I want them...

[Linked Image]

And now of course I want an air source, for both tires and the bags, so today I mounted up my little compressor. Right now it has a quick connect - later I'll rig up my 4-tire inflation system again, copied from Roger Brown's 4-air system.

Looks great Phil. I have those airbags and love'em. I don't think much of their exhaust heat shield though. I plan to fab one up...
