Need a Spot
Since the warm weather started ive notice some vibrations while driving at high speeds. I thought to check my wheel bearings, maybe water got into them and they need to be repacked with grease. I was wondering if anyone has good instructions on how to go about replacing wheel bearings, and what tools should be expected to use.

Body Damage is Cool
Any of the aftermarket service manuals will give you instructions for servicing wheel bearings. If you don't want to buy one (don't know why you wouldn't), you can copy the instructions down from one that you find in your local library.

My experience with wheel bearings is that they will sound off before causing a vibration.. I'm pretty sure the vibration you are feeling isn't coming from wheel bearings. First thing is ALWAYS mistrust the wheel balance!! Next thing is the U-joints! But wheel bearings are way down on anyones balance list.

Doesn't the TJ have unserviceable hubs?

Mudrunner
Running lots of lift with big tires like that... Probably wanna crawl under there and start shaking parts. Tie rods, steering components, u-joints, driveshafts, track & swaybars. you could have mud in one of the wheels as well, or tossed a wheel weight. Bearings will usually start to make noise like a scraping sound when they get ready to go.

thanks for the responses after all was done one of my wheel bearings was making a noise when i would spin it in my hand, so i replaced it. I just had new tires put on balanced and everything so im pretty sure its not that. I am thinking of having an alignment done now. Also im am checking my rear wheel bearings while im at it. something that already doesnt see right is... when i took my wheels off and my brake drum...i can shift the spindle in and out not to much jus like quarter inch? and my right passenger side spindle makes a squeaky noise when i do this?

The in and out is a result of having C-clip axles. They all do the same thing. I can't tell you where the squeak originates.
