Here's one I bet you haven't seen. The Shinozuka Kenjiro Edition. Only 100 made. If the name sounds familiar, you know your Dakar history. Shinozuka Kenjiro was a well known and very good Japanese rally driver in the mid-eighties until his retirement a couple years back. He finished 3rd in the 1987 Dakar and 2nd in 1988 and really put the Pajero "on the map". I guess in honor of his achievements Mitsu built a limited edition truck for him.

All came as SWB and with a white paintjob. They used the 4D56 diesel and a 5MT. The rear was unique. It featured "sport suspension" with stiffer rear coil spings, an LSD, and rear disc brakes. On the exterior you'll note that it had a primitive rear spoiler. Kind of an early version of the aero kit that was used on the later Pajero Evolutions. The side view mirrors may have been unique as well, but I'm not 100% sure about that.
