Need a Spot

I have a 1985 CJ7 monster jeep which has way to much play in the steering, and it wonders on the road. It has a 6" lift, and I do not have the power steering hooked up. (I don't want the power steering hooked up). How can I stop the play/wondering? If I put in a stabalizer bar, would it make my jeep even harder to steer?
