one note, when i crank her the ecu clicks alot. There is an ECU relay located in same area as ECU. Could be your problem and not the ECU. I hear mine click after a short delay when I shut the engine off. I don't hear any click at start-up, probably just due to engine/starter noise.

how much you charging for one of those ecu's?
make a resonable offer. ill open it up and double check it for damage. i dont think it had any leaking caps when i checked it last time.

That aqua blue buildup is oxidized copper. You can usually take it off with a pen eraser (has abrassives in it) if you can reach it. You may need to cut the eraser to make it reach.

Radio Shack's "Control/Contact Cleaner & Lubricant" #64-4315 does a good job at cleaning electrical contacts. Also CRC "QD Electronic Cleaner" #05102. Will also get inside the female harness as well. Will that remove the surface oxidation? Never used anything like that so I'm curios. I can see it possibly removing any loose stuff but it would have to chemically react withe the copper oxide if it were to remove the surface layer.

Can't say yes to that specifically from memory but can only say I've used both with success. The Radio Shack stuff fixed my Camry's non-functioning door switches to like new operation, but I worked them on/off as I sprayed. It has a lubricate as well as cleaner. The CRC stuff has no lubricant and will evaporate dry. The CRC cleaner says; "...safely dissolve dirt, dust, grease, flux and other contaminants on contact." I guess you could spray as you plug/unplug connectors to rub/clean/wash off crud. I just thought trying to get tiny eraser into contacts would be a problem.

I had the same problem of no spark and was able to read the code on the ecu telling me it was the crank angle sensor. After a couple of cranks of it not firing, the check engine light should come on. Read the code and it should give you a good idea of where to look. Let me know what you come up with bc I had the same problem on my 89 Raider
