Howdy! Its been a while. Got a buddy with a 82 truck, 22r. He just installed a new oil pump which solved his low oil pres. and loose chain problem. Now the engine is knocking. Was described to me as a rod knock, not loud, but its there. Judging by how it ran before there was no excessive clearances anywhere. He confirmed he has plenty of oil pressure. Any ideas? And just for shits and giggles, how far does the timing chain have to be off the cam gear mark to start smackin valves?
