I'm going to look at a '85 2wd xtra cab truck as a possible donor for a 4wd project. My urgent question is about a tow bar that I made to tow 4wd trucks and 4runners ('84 - '88). I made some tabs that bolt to the front of the frame on the bottom of each frame rail where factory attaches the "recovery" hook. I bolt these tabs onto the truck to be towed using factory mounting points. Then I attach my tow bar to these tabs. I've only used this on 4wd rigs. Do 2wd trucks have the same "recovery hook" mounting points on the frame? -- Matt
