If your thinking about getting a Ultra Mag take a look at this recoil chart. The 300 RUM kicks like a team of mules. My 7mm RUM is right behind it and I can only get 3-5 rounds off at the range before I anticipate the pain. I don't recommend it you in the light or medium build category. Of course once it was broke it I only fire three rounds before every trip to verify the optics. At $3 a pop it gets pricy. I only use it for the big boars.

Eddy the 30-06 is also my fav all time round. First time I shot one I was 8-9.
