Getting the Wheeling Fever

This is the second problem with my Jeep. It started last summer, my A/C compressor is constantly engaging then dis-engaging. It did this throughout the entire winter and is killing my fuel consumption. What is the problem?
Thanks

First off the compressor comes on when the DEFROST is used.. That should explain the winter use. Now if it comes on and off more than expected usually the cause is LOW freon. You might need a touch added. Big Jim

Have a shop do it,they can add dye in with the freon to detect leaks. take it back a few days later and they will use a uv light to find where the leaks may be.It is possible but very remote that your refridgerant is just old and need to be recycled but more likely at that age there is a leak.
out of all the jeeps in this town the d**n gremlin had to invade mine
I've done so much, with so little for so long i can practicly do anything with nothing

I was actually going to buy a freon kit to fill up my A/C, I have a small leak and it needs filling every few years.
Thanks,
