Couple of things could be the issue. First are you shifting the transmission into neutral BEFORE you shift out of 4wd... I know you have the select trac and it's supposed to be a "shift on the fly" t-case but from my experience that is rarely the case. I find that when I put the transmission into neutral and then shift out of 4wd it will go into 2wd way easier than shifting it on the fly or while in drive. Secondly you might try checking out the t-case linkage as it is a pretty flimsy design and prone to wearing out and having "slop" that would not allow t-case to shift properly, and on a 10+ year old vehicle that is probably more than likely the case. Just crawl under the jeep and you'll see the linkage by the t-case and there is a screw that allows you to adjust it fairly easily. Adjust it a bit at a time until you have a clean, firm shift from range to range. Hope this helps. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
