Yes, there is one in the dash. On my Amigo its down and to the left of the steering wheel... I'd imagine yours should be in a similar location.

The Trooper has only one fuse block - the one on the inside of the left fender.
My guess is that you have a connector loose or a loose ground. Is there anything else not working? For instance, are your exterior lights all working?
I would check first to see that the large ground connector located about the fuse block is fully seated. If you have schematics, it is labeled G100.
Also, make sure that all your warning lights are working.
All of these checks are just so I can further eliminate potential sources of the problem.

The only thing else that is going on is that when i push the brake pedal the dash lights come on and the parking lights then when i take my foot off the brake they turn off. I just put a motor in it. 2.8 v6 4x4 auto 1991.

By my reading of the schematics, all those things (parking lights, dashlights, and instruments) are on the same circuit. It sounds to me like a couple of connectors got switched somewhere.
Is the tranny type the same on both trucks the same?

No The transmissions are not the same. I took the motor out of a manual and put it in a auto.

Jerry, I have a dim memory, perhaps completely wrong, that the wiring of the automatic isn't compatible with the manual.

Jerry, I have a dim memory, perhaps completely wrong, that the wiring of the automatic isn't compatible with the manual. YOU WILL NEED TO USE THE HARNESS FOR THE VEH, NOT THE ENG, IF THE ENG CAME FROM A MANUAL TRANS YOU WILL NEED TO SWAP THE HARNESS FROM THE AUTO OVER TO YOUR ENG , OR THE TRANS WILL LIKLEY NOT SHIFT CORRECTLY, SINCE THE TPS SIGNAL ISNT THERE FOR THE AUTO TO SHIFT CORRECTLY, THE LIGHTING PROB, SOUNDS LIKE A GROUND PROB, FROM THE ENG TO THE FRAME , GO BACK OVER YOUR INSTALL, AFTER SWAPPING THE HARNESS TO THE CORRECT VEH, AND CHECK EVERY GROUND WIRE AND CONNECTOR , SOUNDS LIKE WHAT IS HAPPENING WHEN YOU STEP ON THE BRAKE AND THE LITES TRY TO WORK YOU ARE COMPLETING A GROUND THRU THE BRAKE SYSTEM, JERRY
