Question for the 1st gen Amigo owners still running the stock tranny crossmember... do you have these spacer plates? Here is the spacer plate not installed versus installed: I've never thought a thing about them being there until today. I noticed the crossmember on my parts P'up does not have them because I went to harvest a crossmember bolt from the P'up and it was shorter than the bolt from my 'Migo. They do kind of look home-made in that they do not follow the curve of the crossmember, which results in overhang: I don't know why someone would add these on their own Everything tucks up/fits just fine on the truck without them being there. I also don't know why Isuzu would put them on the Amigos and not the P'up. If they aren't OEM, I'll likely leave them out upon reassembly. They haven't caused a problem in the 11 years I've owned they truck, though.

I know my Trooper does not have them. That said, the Haynes manual for those years is for the Trooper and P'up, but not the Amigo.

I have the actual shop manual for my Amigo and it also includes the Pickup model (TC and TC, respectively). These spacers are not readily apparent on the frame diagrams.

Thanks for checking in, Steve. How odd that the 'Migii have these while other Isuzus appear to not. I wonder what the rationale was. Or maybe the fact its Isuzu is the answer in itself
PS, I'm jealous of how low rust that frame is. Everytime I use an impact wrench it looks like my truck looses two pounds by the pile of rust on the floor .

My rust has actually doubled in the last 2 years since I moved closer to the beach!! The bolts were replaced about 6-7 years ago, last time the cross member was off. They weren't really rusty but they were pretty well pounded by rocks.

HEY SEAN, THOSE SPACERS ARE USED TO GET THE DRIVELINE ANGLE CORRECT BY RAISEING OR LOWERING THE BACK END OF THE TRANS,, MY 95 TROOPER HAS THEM THE 94 AMIEGO DOES NO AND THE 2001 TROOPER DOES NOT HAVE THEM, JUST CERTAIN VEHICLES , FOR SOEM REASON THEY NEVER LIKED USING THE AXLE SHIMS TO TILT THE AXLE TO CORRECT THE ANGLE , TO GET THE DRIVE LINE VIB S OUT , JERRY

They sure don't take care of my driveline vibes I did reinstall them today... along with 8 new bolts and a new tranny mount. Most of my bolts were so "redesigned" my rocks that I had to use a cut-off wheel to put on new edges before the socket would go on.
