Getting the Wheeling Fever
|
I'm trying to prepare my 95 4Runner for selling but I have a check engine light that comes on for code 71 EGR. I finally found the problem but I cannot locate the replacement part online. When my fabulous Toyota dealership replaced my engine due to a blown head gasket they broke both ports off the temperature vaccum valve then just plugged the lines then hid the the lines where I could not see what was wrong. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out why my light stayed on. Does anyone have a used TVV or know where I can get a new one? I've tried to call the local junk yards to no avail. It's hard to sell a vehicle with that stupid light on plus it may run a little better. If interested, it has 193k miles (the used engine I had put in is supposed to only have 90-100k miles on it. Most everything works good and there's only a couple of spots of rust along one fender and on the rear bumper. I'll list it for sale later in the correct place on this website.
