Wow, cool (V8 <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />) <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> That motor seems to sit so low, lowering your center of gravity, cool. I would ditch the fram oil filter though <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
Nice work. Looks like a lot of fun <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Looks like a cool project. If your going to put an American engine in it it better at least be a Ford. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Can't wait to see the finished product.

Well it got welded in place yesterday and of course someone had to mention how cool it would be to fire it up, so we did. With ringing ears and clothes smelling of exhaust gases everybody smiled from ear to ear.
The combo is a 1971 302 with a 1980 AOD tranny and a D300 from a Jeep. All this seems to fit like glove into the Pajero and some of us pondered the idea that mitsu engineers started out with a 302 and then ran out of money and found a 4cyl somwhere behind a barn and finished the project with that.
The T-case crossmember was flipped 180? and that's allmost spot on for the tranny mount, less than an inch away from the original mounting holes. The only problem seems to be to find a radiator that fits so the grille can stay where it's supposed to be, other than that it seems to be no problems fitting a V8 in a Gen2. Every 15 minutes I get slammed with the idea of swaping in a 5.2 Jeep in my LWB. The front diff had to go out and the crossmember that's under the engine, that has to be fabed up before the SAS that the little thing will have after the transplant. That will be done with a 60 series landcruiser front axle.
Anyone who has a decent garage can do this and I strongly belive this can be done using the mitsu IFS as long as you have the 8". <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
