I spent most of Sunday at Road Atlanta with my son in law at a Porsche club meet. Some nice racing, and gems of the day, a really nice old bathtub twin grille Super Carrera (or a Super 90, not sure), an even better Spyder from the 60's, and a real gem of a 904. I used to drool over all 3 in the 60's in Sports Car Graphic (now Car & Driver) and Road and Track. A nice finish to a 60th b'day weekend, and it was free...
Sorry, no pix yet, as my camera batteries died early, but SIL got some and will send them to me and I'll post up.

Nice way to spend the day.

My #1 favorite car of all time.
Even better if you paint "Little Bastard" across the back.

"Little Bastard" across the back. Or drive it into a Ford on a Kali two lane...

I like the guy, the icon at least, but I'm not so into him that I want to recreate his death. Regardless, wicked little car. The 904 is too, very cool. Was the 904 running the little 4-cam flat 4 (Spyder-derived engine) or a flat-six?

It was a straight 904 - a 4 banger. The 911 engined 904/6 and the F1 engined 904/8 were MUCH rarer, much like the 914/6. This one was repainted silver instead of the factory white.
The Spyder was probably a Beck replicar, since it had a framed windshield and top...

Forgot this part until I was telling wife about it today.
The enduro race sunday had to "take a noise break" from 10-12:30 for the local churches. Only in rural GA....

The enduro race sunday had to "take a noise break" from 10-12:30 for the local churches. Only in rural GA.... Track weekends I've done have all had quiet hours on Sunday, but not for 2.5 hours. At VIR and Summit it's just an hour from 12:00 to 1:00. I wonder if it's legislated, or just a courtesy to folks who live close to the track. In any case, 2.5 hours of quiet time is a bit ridiculous. That takes away a session from every run group, and it's not like track weekends are cheap.
