this works great for a 95 dohc, i assume it will work on 95-02 since they use the same maf.all you need are three things that should cost less than a k&n stock replacement filter, and im sure gives more hp gains and clears out the engine compartment very nicely. k&n # ru3610 (universal cone filter w/2 3/4 id flange) 1" of dayco # 76250 (2 1/2" straight rad hose) stant # 10072 (rubber gm oil filler cap)
remove all stock filter housing, rubber intake hose and that little black box, but leave the rubber connector for the lil box on the engine.use the stant oil plug to plug this and use the original clamp to tighten it.take off the rubber connector from the maf to the stock air box, put the dayco straight rad hose in the larger end of this and place on the intake pipe, use the original clamp to tighten this.next put the maf on the other end of the rubber connector and use the original clamp to tighten.lastly put the k&n on the other side of the maf and use the supplied clamp to tighten.voila, your very own cold air intake!!!!!

Experience showed that you are running great up to the point the engene reaches working temperature then you run worst.... Yew ok the sound is great but you have lost too much unless is -10 degrees the outside temp.

its not only temp its restriction. lets face it the intake tube goes right over the engine any air we draw in is going to be warm. if not hot. goin with a cone filter (mine is liek iron's) is less restrictive then the stock airbox and it does really open up your engine bay (i've been wanting dual batteries as well) that and my thermostat died so my engine never reaches the normal operating temp. i did notice more throttle response doing this. give it a try

mine has definately been to operating temp and still runs great...it cleans up the engine bay and gives more flow, just try and see,it works...originally i used the stock rubber intake tube but mine was cracked pretty bad so i did it this way, besides on a cai u dont want to used a ribbed hose that causes restriction too, so if u want to move it farther away from headers try to fab something without the ribs...glad to see it at least has people talking, well off to work now, time to sell some auto parts
