its not only temp its restriction. lets face it the intake tube goes right over the engine any air we draw in is going to be warm. if not hot. goin with a cone filter (mine is liek iron's) is less restrictive then the stock airbox and it does really open up your engine bay (i've been wanting dual batteries as well) that and my thermostat died so my engine never reaches the normal operating temp. i did notice more throttle response doing this. give it a try
