I don't have K&N but I got a fine generic......and with my headers it goes really well...........My real desire would be to build something like Iron did off the hood...(DOn't know how and to nervous) <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />
Aftrr a 4 sus lift and body lift of 1.38 i will prolly revert back to 30 9.5 tires due to power delemmas and such...
Was gonna do a 3 inch body lift but the only issue is the damn break lines are to short!

Do not open the six pack until AFTER you cut he hole! The little hood scoop I found at Canadian Tire for like $9.

Did you position that hole in the hood directly over the cone filter, or down slope from it? I would think you might have some issues with water or mud on the filter if you were getting real down and dirty and it was directly overhead.

i was thinking the same water and mud on filter after looking how dirty mine gets <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
01 w/31 in. mtr,winch,elec.fan ,4 in.suspension lift and 4in. body lift,front and rear hitch. NOT ENOUGH POWER so V8 and solid axles coming soon.2013

It was positioned higher up on the hood than the filter, and slanted at an angle so any rain/water/mud would have to flow to the side if it came up over the lip of the scoop. The box in the engine bay protects the filter from water and mud from being splashed from the inside of the engine bay.
Also with the lip/intake of the scoop on the hood facing backwards the heavier rain/mud is not sucked into the scoop at highway speed like it would if the scoop was facing forwards and acting like a ram!

Don't have to worry about Mud and water etc if you have one of these. Has any body actualy HAVE one of these VTTR snorkels???
I would like to see a picture of the inside of the engine compartment how it connents to the air filter..

I priced one out a few years back, and shipping from the land of OZ was not that bad, the entire set-up 'including' shipping would have cost a little over $500 CDN, which when considering a AEV snorkel for my Jeep is $450 + $120 shipping CDN from the US is pretty cheap!
