Thats pretty cool,must be available in australia only huh,havent seen here in the states,or is it homemade? Lonnie, Lucked out on Ebay through a guy I was originally sourcing through in Aus. He gets these snorkels from Taiwan. He owns his own business for Suzuki Parts. Basicly what Iron was pointing out is it's not a cold air intake unless you isolate it from the rest of the heat under the hood. Mine is simular to Iron's without the box, it does work great but it's not a cold air intake.

Hey, Is there have to be a filter specific for air filter in our kia's or can i really just be at choice? Ever since my Straight through design exhaust my intake seems to be trying to suck harder for my air. Thinking of possiblities other then that cone like filter. I found a tube looking one that is appx. 4" long and 3" dia. Found it at John deer trackers equipment. Was going to make somthing of it but damn the hot air really does build up under out hoods. and I don't wanna do a snorkel don't wanna cut the frame at this point.

And what to do with the Intake Air Temperature Sensor
? Starring at it thinking i could just get a 2" piece of pipe and drill a hole and stick it in but then again would that work? Or do we even need this thing?

my 95 doesnt have that, but if yours has it, pretty sure the computer needs it or it can screw with mpg and other fuel delivery probs if you just leave it unplugged(at least thats what ive been told by customers looking to buy them for their rigs), it would at least throw a code on turn on your CEL...u should just be able to drill a hole in the pipe you suggested and weld the correct size nut over the hole so that you can thread the sensor back in, same concept as an O2 sensor bung on a custom exhaust

Well, Atleast now I someone tells me the same thing I was thinking I gonna try it. Thank you Londart. Since my Straight pipe into a glasspack the motor seems to be demanding more air intake I need to do something about it. anybody ever try header wrap or header paint to reduce the heat under our hoods??? Do NOT try header wrap! header wrap has a nasty habit of causing manifolds to crack at the welds. Not just in Kia's but in general. Wrap really isn't ment for everyday driving, and actually works better on cast manifolds. A simple heat shield would work a lot better, be alot cheaper and was esayer to install.
