Body Damage is Cool
Lonnie,
don't you have a stock heat shield on your headers?
If not, I've got 2 spare ones I think...
Let me know.
Actually, to get cold air in, I like the idea of a hood scoop with a intake hose hooked up to the stock air box and the hose attached to the hood scoop somehow.

Also, I'm looking at making a 3-3.5" tube snorkel. If I can ever get my buddy to TIG weld it for me...I've used several favors from him recently and he is slow to answer his phone now.
Another idea is to have my buddy at work draw a cad file for it and maybe see if the tube bending guys can bend it in one piece.
Thinking aluminum might look good...think steel would be less expensive.
Would make it so you could put a K&N on top or a cool looking end on it.

Just in the dream stage right now.

no i dont,it was missing when i bought it...there is 1 on my parts rig, havent checked to see if it would fit yet...its a 7/98 production so im pretty sure the manifold is different, not sure about the shield though...eventually ill pull it off and if it fits, pretty it up a lil its kinda ugly right now...i did however lenghten my intake and placed the cone back over right behind the drivers headlight...ill get new pics eventually just been busy...i just used some more straight rad hose and exhaust tube, painted it all black and put it there out of the direct heat like everyone suggested...maybe eventually ill build a box around it dunno yet

Need a Spot
Well I put my custom made Air flow filter setup today. Gonna get pictures soon, Might save you guys some time and money and Ideal of the heat going into your Air flow system. Costed me about $35 At Knects auto parts and Home depot. Got a cheap K&N air filter and a 3" Flex dryer hose 8' long and some pipe clamps. I rerouted my Emission close control box over to the front driver side of the engine bay with about 14' of hoses and took out my stock MAF system and Hooked up the flex dryer hose and routed it over my thermast and hooked up the K&N air filter and set it down where the Emission close control box set. and SHAAWWWBAAM. Air filter system on the cooler side of the engine and easier to work on the machine . Even makes it to where i can easily take the Air Filter system off with out hassel. Gonna get pics soon. Really does the trick in easy modes that deliver with the straight pipe glasspack set up. Cooler engine performance and few more ponies. Have't noticed and more MPG but I am sure it does

I had a alloy snorkel made up for the jeep! Looks good! Don't think making one for the Sporty will be that hard, just need the time and access to the correct welder!
