Can it be converted? Of course, enough money can convert anything. Just ask Curtis and his locking hub conversion on the rear of his Rodeo. Of course, he also paid with a good bit of headache too.

The questions is: Do you want to (or can you) mess with it?

The preferred D44 axle is fom the Wagoneer. Someone here will be able to give you some ideas about the binder axle, but...I would ask, why make it harder than need be.
