93 Toyota 4x4 pickup 22RE 150,000 manual 5 speed


Hello everyone, I was hoping someone could help me out with a weird thing going on with my truck. Just recently it started idling rough. When I shift into 2nd gear, the truck kind of lurches and then kicks into gear. After driving the truck a couple of miles, it seems to warm up and act fine. When it sits for a couple hours and cools off, it acts weird again.

Something perhaps related is that when the truck starts up, it emits water and charcoal pieces from the exhaust. not sure if it is normal but I never noticed it happening before.
